What is an eSIM?

The eSIM is a soldered chip in newer smartphones that can store the information that is normally stored on a SIM card. With the eSIM, it is no longer necessary to order a physical SIM card or to install SIM slots in devices. This not only makes registering with cellphone providers much easier, but also allows for more compact and dense devices and is even more sustainable!
